Community herbalism discussion and herb walk at Garden Circles Community Garden, Tacoma.
We are going to discuss harvesting and using the plants that grow in our backyards and city lots, as well as plants that can be grown in our region. Building community involves having a knowledge of the ecosystem we live in. Come prepared for a lively discussion and to taste several different edible "weeds". Bring your own lawn chair or blanket for reclining, the only seating at the garden is grass.:)

Urban Permaculture Basics Workshop
Come find out about the sustainable option of permaculture garden design for your yard. We will discuss edible landscape design, organic growing methods, compost tea and designing for summer drought conditions. This is a small class so each participant can ask questions and draft their own yard design, register early.
